Mmmmmm....good

Okay, I've been a little behind on honoring my foodie roots. Here's what we had for dinner...a little broiled cod and shrimp on a bed of rugula and asparagus with some damn fine bearnaise sauce...garnished with Sorrento lemon. I love making hollandaise and bearnaise here because the eggs have such brilliant orange yolks. The greens are incredible too. Okay, my asparagus was from Peru but...what's a chef to do?

Viva Las Vegas

That's right, I Got You Babe, we bought tickets to go and see glorious 61 year old Cher in Las Vegas this summer! Earl and I have always wanted a cheesy Elvis wedding and no matter how old she is I think Cher will always put on an outrageous show. We'll be in Vegas from August 12th through the 16th. We're going to the concert on the night of the 13th and will probably do the Elvis wedding on the night of the 14th. Any of you crazy whack-jobs out there that feel like joining us are more than welcome. We've already got a couple of takers...the more the merrier...we're just going to have a little fun a get a bit goofy! Thank you, thank you very much!

Napoli Garbage Strike : February 11th, 2008

A little early morning fog....? I think not, we woke up with our eyes stinging and a nasty taste in our mouths. We can't really blame them for burning this particular pile...it's been growing since December 21st and is blocking traffic. Thank goodness for you that this is not "smellivision" because let me tell you pee-yew does not even begin to sum it up.

VIDEO: The Drive Home From Taryn's Bus Stop


Protesting got a little out of hand today and I had to cancel my plans to go to the support site when I encountered blockades at all exits out of Montericello. Taryn's schoolbus was an hour late getting home. We decided to investigate the situation for Earl and here is what we found. We're all home safe and sound now with a nice pot of spaghetti simmering on the stove. Just another day in charming bel Napoli.

Our neighbor, Deb, is getting ready to go back to the states so she has been having Taryn dogsit her itty bitty dog "Bella" while she squeezes in all of her last minute travels. Deb recently went to Venice for Mardi Gras and brought Taryn back this beautiful mask.
